They were there because they could make a portal (ah yes!) if you put the shoe horns in the right place.

So Pencil went back to room 1014 and tried to place them a bunch of different ways, but no portal.

So he came back and asked what was wrong.

The woman said, to get the portal to open, you need to throw two shoe horns out the window, put four on top of a tent, and put one in the ocean.

So he went all the way back to his room again and took two shoe horns and threw them out the window, set up a tent and threw four on top of that tent, and then he took a trip to Magnet Town’s national beach and threw one in the ocean, then came back and found the portal.

Finally.

And then he went through the portal and ended up in a place called Happy Land, and everything was happy, so he could take off his magnet-proof vest.

But then he saw this Ferris wheel going around, and it went faster and faster and suddenly it broke into two pieces and caught on fire.
