Once there was a pencil and his friend was an eraser. Their names were Pencil and Eraser. Pencil had a time machine, but where he got it is another story. Pencil and Eraser wanted to go to the past and the future. Pencil really wanted to go to the past so Pencil and Eraser went to the past.

“This is so cool!” Pencil said.

They arrived in Florence, Italy. They met Leonardo da Paintbrush.

They went back inside the time machine and they tried to go home. But they went too far. When they got back they saw robots.  So, they went back to the time machine because it was the wrong place.

Then, they went to the beginning of time.

There was nothing there, so they tried going back inside the time machine but they were stuck!  Something was broken.

Pencil ran around like a maniac but Eraser didn’t. You see, he was the smart guy. All Eraser wanted to do was to figure out how to get back. So he said, “Stop fooling around and let’s figure out how to get out of here!”

But Pencil just would not listen.

So Eraser grabbed him by the carbon and dragged him over, and fixed the time machine in two minutes. You see, Eraser could fix things.
