Not much interesting to report for the past couple of days. Actually, today was my birthday, but I don’t really go in for a lot of birthday celebrating, so mostly I just ate more chocolate than usual.

My language center had a drop-off, pick-up at a big mall nearby, but we only had 1 hour to shop. I spent most of this hour trying to find stamps (apparently you can only get them from the post office, which is only open when I am in class). Luckily, I should be able to buy some stamps from the office instead. One of the fun things about my spin around the mall was this:

It says “shilis” or maybe “tashilis,” can’t quite read the stylized script on the sign.

Random fact: some of the other students told me that Borders bookstores are still alive and well (or alive) in Oman.
