There are a ton of stray cats running around, as well as stray dogs. Dogs are not very popular here; I don’t think many people keep them as pets. My Arabic teacher said she is scared of dogs. However, cats are a little more accepted.

At least two stray cats hang around my villa. Past residents here started feeding them, so now the cats expect it. The cats also get into yowling fights, frequently. On one occasion, they infiltrated the dining room of the villa and fought there; later we found clumps of hair on the floor.

This is Mogey. She is the most frequent visitor to the villa and is also the whiniest and friendliest.
This is Osama (I did not name him!). He is a raggedy tomcat with crumpled ears. He’s not very approachable.

You can also find stray cats at the complex of my language school. They have a pretty sweet deal, what with all the students giving them scraps during lunch. There is also some cat food in the school’s kitchen.

I once fed Lola almost a whole pizza crust, bit by bit. She never got full.
The black cat has a name, but I forget what it is. I can often see him lounging and enjoying life through the window of my classroom. A little distracting!
