Ceremony Two - Post ceremony

GORDON: Can I go next? Got lots to share. It’s coming right through me. I kept in mind the stuff you guys said – like keep the question in mind? The idea of being grounded…and I also carry a book in my pocket, the 23rd Psalm, that I actually brought with me. And I recited that to myself a few times, looking for what part I could get out of it.

GABOR: How does that one go?

GORDON: The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want, he leads me…right? But the part I got was, he restoreth my soul. I could feel that. I could feel it coming back

GABOR: I think the first thing you said, you mentioned the psalm- I think the biggest strength is that, the Lord is your shepherd.

GORDON: Yeah he leadeth me – shows me where he wants me to go. I did change the words on that though: “Thy rod and thy staff comfort me”- I changed that to “Thy dog and thy shotgun.” (Group laughter) because they were really relevant, I had to update for the 2010 version. Yeah I know, don’t change the Bible. But you know, I got to adjust, it’s 2000 years old- you got to make a few changes!

GABOR: About time.

RONIN: I want to also acknowledge, when I was chanting to you, you were dead still. You were like, I had to ask – am I chanting to you? You were just right there, fully present…in amazing stillness.

GORDON: Well I noticed that too. And that’s something that just doesn’t exist in my life.

* * *

SCOTT: Well I really went into it with the intention that I had to go into it with – and I really tried to hold onto my question, being open and present, not having expectations and not judging – and I did that for pretty much, a very long time. As long as I could possibly do it, to be honest. And I was experiencing some very interesting visuals, that I’ve experienced before – there’s a definite thing that always seems to happen to me, in terms of visuals that I get, which is so interesting. Um but there was really, the influence of talking about going back to childhood and whatnot – I had a really beautiful vision of my little sister, as a little girl. And it totally made me freak out – I got super emotional. Um, [Crying]

GABOR: So give some words to those emotions.

SCOTT: She was just really beautiful- and unspoiled by the world. And I don’t know, I was just struck by; it really hit me hard- I almost feel like I had sort of forgotten her that way. And it was just really special for me to have that. [Sobbing.]
