Stop-Motion Rules

Tell students that they are going to make a stop-motion animation about one of the rules for playing online together that you’ve just discussed.

During the planning phase, have them use the Storyboard template to plan a story that either shows the rule helping people or shows what could go wrong without the rule.

Have them film the stop-motion story.

Remind students of the devices you’ve learned about in other lessons, including:

When students show their videos, have them explain how their story shows the importance of the rule: how rules keep people safe, make sure that people can do what they are trying to do and make sure that everyone has fun

If you wish, you can have them use the Reflection Recorder.

With younger students you may want to have the class choose what they think is the most important rule and make the video as a whole-class project.

If time is short, you may choose to have students draw a poster illustrating one of the rules instead.
