Contributor Bio – Cameron Mackenzie
Cameron Mackenzie (he/him)
Originally from South Africa, Cameron is a director, producer and drag queen working on the stolen, traditional and ancestral territories of the xʷməθkwəy̓əm, Skwxwú7mesh, and Səl̓ílwətaʔ. He produced and curated Club PuSh for the PuSh Festival from 2013 to 2020, and is founder and Artistic & Executive Director of Zee Zee Theatre currently celebrating their Sweet 16th season. Since the pandemic Cameron has developed and secured funding for the major sector transforming project: The National Queer & Trans Playwriting Unit & Public Reading Series. A recipient of the Ray Michal Award for Outstanding Body of Work by an Emerging Director for 2014/2015, he has also been nominated for Outstanding Direction at The Jessie Awards. He is a graduate of Studio 58.
