Introduction

This open textbook was created as a first step in designing open resources to enhance and improve curriculum in English General Education courses.  OER have been curated to align with the ECTJ Department’s English 101 and 102 student learning outcomes (SLO’s).  The resources selected for this textbook vary.  Most of the resources include textbook chapters with and without exercises.  Other resources include student modules, YouTube videos, links to supplemental resources, etc.  The textbook is designed specifically for adjunct instructors and dual-enrollment teachers to use as a curricular supplement or textbook for their general education courses.

The Table of Contents is organized by the course SLO with a drop-down menu of resources.  In the Appendix, there are tables of OER English 101 and 102 textbooks in addition to supplemental resources that did not necessarily “fit” with the courses’ SLO.
