DHI students may choose to pursue a creative thesis that involves original art, literature, or performances. In all cases, the final thesis includes not only the work, but a reflection on the creative process and results. Artists, just like researchers, belong to communities and are engaged in conversations (some recent and some long-standing). The DHI thesis must contextualize the student’s work in relation to these communities and conversations. Students may choose to present a portfolio which includes drafts and revisions, a gallery show, or live performance.
