The Introduction and Chapter 1 of this OER stated the goals of this work were to inspire discussion of the use of artificial intelligence in our schools.  Using the Frankenstein novel as a foundation to build on, the reader was presented with information in written and digital form that was designed to be interesting and informative, as well as to achieve the stated objectives.

The subjective desire of this OER is that the reader will be open to advanced technologies in the classroom, but not as simply tools or “commodities” but rather as the means to enhance learning beyond the immediate educational objectives.  Technology can transform our schools as well as individuals as long as there is a clearly stated purpose for its application.  Like Victor Frankenstein, it may be too easy to overlook the intended purpose of technology or the results to be achieved by it.  That oversight can lead to frustration and either a misuse of technology or a complete rejection of technology altogether.

Lastly, this OER is by no means the end of the line in the addressing using technology in our schools.  There will be agreement and disagreement of the positions taken in this work.  Nevertheless, the questions at the end of each chapter are intended to prompt further questioning and discussion.  The ultimate objective is the obtaining of a clearer path in how we educate our students at whatever level they may be.
