 Introduction

About a year ago, I was unexpectedly asked to take on a new class at Santa Fe College focused on Grant Development. The request came at the last minute, due to unforeseen circumstances, leaving me in a bit of a scramble to gather suitable materials, as the class was not yet fully developed. As I began my search for resources, I quickly realized that there wasn’t a comprehensive textbook available on the subject. The few books that did exist were informative but not structured in a way that could be easily integrated into an educational program. Faced with this challenge, I decided to compile research and draw upon my own knowledge of the subject to create a cohesive class. This textbook is the culmination of that effort, built upon the framework of the class I developed. It is set to be used for the first time this summer in 2025. My hope is that everyone who uses it to learn about grants will find success in all their endeavors.
