Global Teach Connection Modules (GTCM)

GTC Instructional Development Framework

All dimensions of the GTC framework specifically support the UN SDGs 4 Quality Education and SDG 5 Gender Equity. We believe solutions to these problems are connected to our teaching and learning systems. Teachers and policymakers are at the center of our educational systems. The GTC project has use research to produce three modules as an open educational resource to support developing global teaching competencies to improve the access to ad quality of education.

To develop instructional learning plan to incorporate global teaching competencies, follow these eight (8) steps:

  1. Define the learning objectives: Start by clearly defining what you want your students to learn, understand and be able to do as a result of your instruction.
  2. Assess the needs of your learners: Determine the current knowledge, skills, and aptitudes of your learners and how they relate to the learning objectives.
  3. Choose appropriate instructional strategies: Select teaching methods and activities that align with the learning objectives and the needs of your learners.
  4. Develop a learning plan: Create a detailed outline of the instruction including the content to be covered, teaching methods to be used, and assessments to measure the learning objectives.
  5. Incorporate active learning: Encourage learners to participate in the learning process through hands-on activities, group work, and discussions.
  6. Incorporate technology and media: Use technology and multimedia resources to enhance the learning experience and provide engaging and interactive instruction.
  7. Evaluate and refine: Continuously evaluate the effectiveness of the instructional plan and make necessary changes to improve the learning experience for your students.
  8. Repeat the process to recycle steps for continuous learning.
