Global Teaching Competence Training Modules

ONLINE MODULE DESIGN

The GTC Modules are designed as Open Educational Resources (OER). Upon joining the Open educators Community, you have a “discoverable presence” and are connected with others in ways that provide opportunities for community, collaboration and sharing.

In these modules, we present the many benefits of developing global teaching competencies by sharing openly, developing new pedagogical strategies, and exploring tools to enable collaboration and ways to connect with open, global education communities online.

Each module provides common elements, including:

• scenarios and overviews to acquaint you with the topic;
• focused topic sections exploring key concepts and skills necessary for global teaching competence development and open global education;
• Extend Activities to engage you actively in the learning;
• Extend Connections to help you consider how the learning relates to you and your practice; and
• a module checklist to help you wrap up and mark your progress.
