“So…” I said feeling awkward with this undesirable probably beyond awkward silence; do I offer you tea or something?”
“Um what is tea?” the angel asked looking rather curious.” I looked at them in mock disbelief. Who does not know what tea is. I guess you could say that I was a tea junkie.
“Finn, maybe they prefer coffee. Not everyone is like you.” That was Val declaring her universal love for coffee people. I always wonder what sort of rush she gets from drinking it apart from frequent visits to the bathroom.
“Ok we seriously have no clue what you on about is it some sort of fancy drink this coffee?” I snorted at that. Coffee? Fancy? Maybe in your wildest dreams.
“Don’t you dare mock me Finn. I can’t even look at them! They are worse than you.” She was such a drama queen I thought rolling my eyes at her silliness. I turned and asked them what they were planning to do about our back yard and their ‘space ship’. Plus I was still skeptical about all this alien stuff but oh well.
“Everything is under control.” was all Stanley said. I looked at them pondering what they meant by that until Duke told us to check it out. Turning as if in slow motion I faced our once destroyed back yard that now looked excruciatingly cleaner than it was before they decided to pay us a visit from wherever they decided to come from.
“What did you do this place was a mess before!” Val explained gazing at it in wonder. I think I was mirroring at the exact same reaction shaking my head I grabbed Val’s hand and pulled her with me towards the door that leads to the rooftop and mentioned for the “aliens” to follow us. As long as they were not here to probe us in the ass I was down for an adventure.
“Our planet is pretty advanced where it comes to technology that is why with the help of these,” he raised his weapons,” we were able to get rid and destroy the evidence.”
“That is so cool.”I opened the door and descended the stairs thanking God mother wasn’t around though it wouldn’t matter considering how big this house was. Val stopped abruptly when we were on the first floor that contained most of our guest and bed rooms and looked at me as if to ask where to go next. Sighing in frustration, I turned and headed towards the biggest room we had since we had to talk about the so called plan to rescue their friend.
What is the name of this dude you guys are looking for?” I asked making myself comfortable on the plush couch in the room as they looked around probably noticing how very empty it looked with its pale pink walls bed with no sheets on and a single framed picture of me on a swing with the biggest smile any six year old could have. I remember that day clearly. It was before father passed and mum was still well a mum. They had taken us out to the park for a picnic that Saturday and I think the reason I was laughing so hard was because I was being pushed higher than ever before. Good times. Anyhow I wondered how that had ended up in here.
“Oh his name is Elroy Griffith at least here on earth.” Whitney said picking up a framed picture. “Who is this little person?”
“That is Finn everybody when he was still an adorable lovable kid but now he could be the devil’s spawn.” Val said pointing at me then went back to looking at the strangers in our room.
“It is? Why did you cut your hair? It looked good on you.”
I looked at duke who had joined Whitney as if he were crazy.
“Dude I was just six.” I dead panned. “Anyway we have a kid at school with the same last name and since it’s important for you can do a background check on her and see if it’s who you want.” I said then went ahead to retrieve my laptop to hack into the school students records which was not hard at all. They had the easiest firewall to bypass given the fact that it was actually an organization. I plopped down on the sofa and typed in the last name Griffiths. Only one result: a girl Mia Griffiths, 16 years old, straight A student (this was useless) then I clicked on the icon for personal information. I copied down the address and noticed that she actually was Elroy’s daughter.
“Guys I think Finn has found this Elroy guy.” Val, who had been hovering over me called to the strangers who call themselves Aliens. They had formed a circle as if discussing strategy for something and when they heard Val’s voice, all conversations (more like murmurs ceased to exist. I turned and looked at them weirdly wondering what in the world they were up to.
“Thank you but before we meet with Elroy we would like you to be friends with his daughter, maybe distract her and get to know more about her father you know the important stuff and all that jazz.” That was the longest statement Duke had said since we met a while ago I guess.
“That is a job for Finn he is the social butterfly between the two of us and maybe he could even charm her pants off.” That little bugger sold me out and that statement was so uncalled for. I glared her not believing that she had snitched on me to those fake ass aliens. Sighing I shook my head and muttered a ‘whatever’ then looking at Val I said ‘bitch’ under my breath.
“What it is true and you know it. You even have a fan club.” She said smirking at me while the strangers looked on as we continued to bicker between ourselves.
“I don’t have a fan club. Those chicks are just some crazy stalkers and I would not be surprised if I had cameras in my room.” I exclaimed heatedly. I hated those girls and if I knew acting out a few times would lead to this then you would not have caught me doing it again I was young and immature. Well I still am young and immature but that is beyond the point.
“So you guys going to join our school?” I asked sighing in defeat. They shook their heads simultaneously ‘no’ “why not?” I continued probing for answers coz that’s how it happens in every Alien Story if they actually were what they claimed to be. Val was already giving them a skeptical look. They were acting suspicious.
“Because we say so plus we don’t need that much attention to us.”
After hefty conversations we gave them two rooms to rest in that Val claimed she had placed cameras in so as to keep an eye on them. The next day, was a Sunday so they convinced us, well Darcy did, to go and take Mia out of the house and ask about her dad and stuff. I don’t remember how or why I accepted their request but it was the biggest mistake I had done in my life so far and I regret it greatly.
