Revised Edition Notes

This revised edition of “Introduction to Early Childhood Education” builds upon the excellent work of the original authors and reviewers listed in the front matter. As the editor and a contributor of this new edition, I have remixed, updated, and contributed additional material throughout the text to align with Charter Oak State College’s Student Learning Outcomes and the ECE 101 Introduction to Early Childhood Education course.

Key changes in this edition include:

• Remixed chapters to align with Charter Oak State College’s ECE 101 course outline.
• Removed content that was specific to the State of Washington related to licensing and funding.

I am grateful to the original authors for creating this comprehensive openly-licensed resource for the early childhood education community. This revised edition would not be possible without the strong foundation of their initial work. Specific attribution for the original text is retained throughout this edition.
