As we begin the process of discovering your learners, please take time (approximately 12 minutes) to watch the following videos that highlight the stories of adult learners who pursued educational opportunities after failing to graduate from high school. These videos were produced byKentucky Educational Television (KET) as a part of “Dropping Back In”, a series focusing on America’s dropout crisis. As you listen to their stories, please reflect on the following:
- What were the circumstances that caused these adults to drop out?
- What obsticles did they face dropping back into formal education?
- How did their pursuit of education as an adult offer them opportunities to improve their lives?
