An exciting part of taking an open online course is the ability to connect, share, and compare experiences with others. Many in the course work or volunteer in adult basic education programs. Others have academic or work backgrounds as instructional designers, or as educators familiar with the subject matter, possibly in a K12 or higher education setting.
