Introduction

This conceptual framework is the basis for the pedagogical approaches and orientation of each part or section of each unit.

This is inspired by theoretical work on the coloniality of language (Mignolo, 2014; Veronelli, 2016) and anti-racist pronunciation pedagogy (Ramjattan, 2022) and the extensive body of literature exploring the speaking of Spanish. Please see our Research we love page for links, summaries and more.

Learning to recognise the impact of coloniality of ways of speaking and speakers

Learning to appreciate the embodied and affective nature of speech
