Emotionally Charged Words

Highlight the idea mentioned in the video (and referenced in the first question) that specific words can be emotionally persuasive. Have students access the student chapter Emotionally Charged Words and have them sort the list of words into ones that are neutral and ones that are emotionally charged. (Point out that the emotional charges can be either positive or negative.)

Next, have students the connotation of the emotionally charged words – what feelings are associated with each word?
