Countering the Comparison Game
Now remind students of the analysis the did of the Comparison Game. Have them access the student chapter SuperBetter: Countering the Comparison Game and explain that they will be making a SuperBetter-style game that is designed to counter the negative effects of the Comparison Game.
Point out that this is similar to how the Disconnection Challenge was designed to counter negative effects of media use by prompting players to reflect on their media use and identify specific activities that made them feel worse, like Snapchat streaks.
Have them use the interactive Documentation Tool to create a game design. (You can have students do this individually, in pairs or in small groups, as you prefer.)
Because the game will probably have no board or physical components, there is no need to make a prototype.
Assess the design using the SuperBetter Game Design Rubric.
