D. Proposed Activities

This section explains all project activities in order and lists the major milestones with target dates for achieving them.

Over a 36-month period, we will apply a three-phase cultural preservation process to minority cultures of the Middle Belt Region of Nigeria. The three phases of the project are:

  1. Inventory of 50 ethnic minority cultures with little or no prior documentation.
  2. Documentation of the Intangible Cultural Heritage (ICH) traditions in 10 focus cultures.
  3. Preventive conservation of ICH traditions by the return of annotated born-digital audiovisual and text materials to participating communities.

These correspond to three of the eight appropriate project activities listed as objectives for the 2024 Ambassadors Fund for Cultural Preservation program, specifically items (e) Inventory, (d) Documentation, and (f) Preventive Conservation.
