A genealogy researcher in Germany searched the Scheeßel Church records for Peter Meÿer and found a Peter Meÿer who was born 31 Oct 1809 to Johann Diedrich Meÿer and Margrethe nee Dreyer from Lauenbrück.
This researcher then located and sent copies of church records for the ancestors of these two parents. The pedigree chart of Margaretha (Meier) Cordes that Norma (Kirmse) Rauh put together was based on these church records.
A Problem
The date of birth, 31 Oct 1809, is not the known date of birth for Peter Meÿer/Meier. The Salem Lutheran Church – Farrar, Missouri burial record has Peter Meier as born 14 Jun 1814. Hence, the above ancestry chart is broken at the red X.
The chapter, Broken Ancestor Link, reports the findings of who were the parents of Peter Meÿer(Meier)[1]. According to Peter’s correct Birth/Baptism record as well as his marriage record, Peter’s parents were Johann Meÿer and Margretha Tambcke living in Wenkeloh.
