Part III: The Battle

On the day when
The weight deadens
On your shoulders
And you stumble,
May the clay dance
To balance you.
Beannacht by John O’Donohue

After 18 months of fighting cancer, the weight started to deaden and, ever so slightly, Steve began to stumble. The clay beneath his feet – his X Factor: his strong social network, his faith, his work ethic, his positive nature, and his strength of character – danced to give him the support and balance he needed.
