Louise Wilhemina Karlin
COLUMBUS — Louise W. Karlin,’94, formerly of Columbus, died Sunday, Aug. 4, 1991, at University Hospital in Omaha.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. with a family prayer at 10:15 a.m. Wednesday at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Columbus. The Rev. Roland Jank will officiate, and burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 2-9 p.m. Tuesday at Gass-Haney Chapel and 9:30-10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the church.
Mrs. Karlin was born Oct. 16, 1896, in Platte County to John and Johanna (Plath) Brunken. She attended District 35 and Christ Lutheran schools.
On Nov. 16, 1921, she married Herman H. Karlin at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Columbus. She lived in Columbus most of her lire.
She was a past president of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary, the American Legion Auxiliary, the Disabled American Veterans and parents-teacher association. She was ‘a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church and City Ladies Aid of Immanuel Lutheran Church.
Mrs. Karlin is survived by a son, Gerald of Omaha; one daughter, Mildred Meyn of Omaha; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, two sisters and eight brothers. Memorials are suggested to the Lutheran Home in Omaha or doner’s choice.
