BRUNKEN – After a year of failing health, William L. Brunken, age 63, died Sunday afternoon in the Enid hospital. He had lived on a farm five miles northwest of Lahoma for the past 31 years and was well known for his interest and activities in the community.
Funeral services were to be held today with a short home service followed by church services in the Zion Lutheran church, of which he was a member.
The Rev. G.A. Clerti will officiate and burial will be made in the Memorial Park cemetery.
Among survivors are his wife, two sons, Alvin of Breckinridge, Harold of the home; three daughters, Mrs. H.J. Lindorfer of Enid, Mrs. Julius Kirmse and Mrs. Martin Kletke, both of Alva; his mother Johanna Brunken of Nebraska, and brothers Emil of Columbus, Neb., Henry of Los Angeles, Calif. and Edward of Knoxville, Ia. He also leaves four grandchildren.

William Brunken, 63, resident of Lahoma, Oklahoma, the past 32 years, former Columbus man, and son of Mrs. Johanna Brunken, 1722 Eleventh street, and the late John Brunken, died yesterday noon at St. Mary’s hospital in Lahoma where he had been a patient the past week.
Suffering a stroke last February he had been in poor health since that time. A second stroke last Thursday and complications resulted in death.
Born July 2, 1978, on a farm in Shell Creek (Platte county, Nebraska), he attended school in that community and grew to manhood. His marriage to Miss Mary Peterson of Platte Center, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Carsten Peterson, took place March 15, 1905.
Four years after their marriage, they lived on a farm west of Platte Center, and later moved to Lahoma, Oklahoma, where they have resided since.
Surviving are his wife, five children, Mrs. Julius Kirmse and Mrs. Martin Kloppe [Kletke], both of Alva, Okla., Mrs. Herbert Brunken of Enid, Okla., Alvin Brunken of Breckenridge, Okla., and Harold Brunken at home in Lahoma.
