Clara Marie (Petersen) Bunken

Clara Marie, daughter of Carston and Marquete Petersen, was born June 25,1884 near Platte Center. Nebraska and passed away on December 21, at the Alva Share Medical Center at the age of 88 years, 5 months, and 27 days.
Miss Petersen was married to William L. Brunken on March 15,1905 at Platte Center, Nebraska. To their marriage five children were born.
The family came to the Lahoma area in the spring of 1910 from Platte Center. In 1943 Clara came to Alva to make her home. She was a member of the Alva Zion Lutheran Church; The Ladies Aid Society, and the Lutheran Missionary League. Mrs. Brunken was preceded in death by her husband. William, on October 12,1941; a daughter, Mrs. Hilda Kirmse in September 1945;a grandson, a great granddaughter, four sisters, and one brother.
Clara is survived by two daughters; Mrs. Mildred (Martin) Kletke of Alva; Mrs. Leona (Herbert) Lindorfer, of Texhoma, Oklahoma; two sons: Alvin of Oklahoma City and Harold of Meno; sixteen grand-children; seventeen great granddaughters; three sisters: Mrs. Lucie Gripentrog of Schuyler, Nebraska; Mrs. Cecelia Weber of Lincoln, Nebraska; Mrs. Freida Zimmerman of Youngtown, Arizona; one brother. Chris Petersen of Columbus, Nebraska; a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

CLARA MARIE BRUNKEN
ALVA — Clara Marie Brunken, 88, Alva. died Thursday night in an Alva hospital.
She was born June 25. 1881 at Platte Center, Neb. She married William L. Brunken March 15, 1905 at Platte Center. He preceded her in death Oct. 12, 1941. They came to Lahoma from Nebraska in 1910, and lived there until moving to Alva in 1943. She was a member of the Alva Zion Lutheran Church, Ladies Aid and Lutheran Womens’ Missionary League.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter, a grandson and a great-granddaughter. Survivors are two daughters, Mrs. Martin (Mildred) Kletke, Alva, Mrs. Herbert (Leona) Lindorfer, Texoma; two sons, Alvin of Oklahoma City and Harold of Meno; three sisters, Mrs. Lucie Gritentrog. Schuyler, Neb., Mrs. Cecelia Weber, Lincoln, Neb., and Mrs. Freida Zimmerman, Youngstown, Ariz.; one brother, Chris Peterson, Columbus, Neb.; 16 grand-children and 17 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Mrs. Brunken will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the Alva Zion Lutheran Church with Rev. A. J. Brase officiating.
Graveside services will be at 4 p.m. in the Memorial Park Cemetery of Enid with Rev. William K. Hannusch officiating, and burial will be under the direction of Wharton Funeral Home of Alva. Grandsons will serve as casket bearers.
