HAROLD C. BRUNKEN
A funeral service for Harold Carsten Brunken. age 90. of Meno, will be at 1:30 p.m. today. April 19. 2004, at the Zion Lutheran Church in Lahoma. with Pastor Velmer Goebel officiating. Burial will be in Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Lahorna, with arrangements by Anderson-Burris Funeral Home.
He was born to William and Clara (Petersen) Brunken on November 17, 1913, on the family farm south of Lahoma, and died Saturday, April 17, 2004, at Greenbrier Nursing Center in Enid.
Harold grew up on the family farm, graduating from Lahoma High School. On May 7, 1943, he married Leona Oelerking in Lahoma. She died on January 14, 1973. He later married Mildred Bergdall on March 19, 1977. in Lahoma. He was a farmer, and a volunteer fireman for the Meno and Lahoma Fire Departments, and he loved to fish. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Lahoma, and also the Lions Club of Lahoma.
He is survived by his wife, Mildred, of the home; two daughters, Lavila Testerman and husband Ken of Broken Arrow, Glenda Dixon and husband Gary of Haneyville, Kansas; one son. Delane Brunken of Topeka, Kansas: two stepsons, Ron Bergdall of Meno, and Larry Bergdall of Enid; one sister, Mildred Kletke of Alva; eight grandchildren; and 11 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his first wife Leona; one brother, Alvin Brunken; and two sisters, Leona Lindorfer and Hilda Kirmse.
Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Zion Lutheran Church of Lahoma.
