Otto Brunken Dies Today At Local Hospital
Otto Brunken, 57, life-long resident of Platte county, passed away at 11:20 a. m. today at the Lutheran hospital.
He was born Aug. 19, 1889, the a son of Mr. and Mrs. John Brunken who resided at that time on a farm near Platte Center.
In June, 1922, he married Marie Hupp and they made their home at 1051 Twenty-second Avenue in Columbus. When his wife passed away on Jan. 15, 1925, Mr. Brunken moved to 1722 Eleventh Street, to since reside.
He was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran church.
Mr. Brunken is survived by one son, Carrol Otto Brunken at home; three sisters; Mrs. Herman Karlin, Mrs. Anna Roesch, and Mrs. John Witt, all of Columbus; six brothers, J. L. Brunken and Carl H. Brunken of Columbus, Emil Brunken of David City, Gus Brunken of Lincoln, Henry Brunken of Van Nuys, Calif., and Edward Brunken of Knoxville, Ia.
He was preceded in death by his wife; his father; and one brother, William Brunken of Enid Okla.
Funeral services will be held ‘at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Immanuel Lutheran church with Rev. A. H. Guettler, pastor, officiating. Burial will be the Columbus cemetery.
The body will lie in state at the Gass chapel’from 1 p. m. Wednesday until the hour of the service.

Funeral Services – Funeral services for Otto Brunken, 57, life-long resident of Platte county, were held at 2 p. m. Thursday at the Immanuel Lutheran church with Rev. A. H. Guettler, pastor, officiating. Burial was in the Columbus cemetery. Pallbearers were George Ewert, Walter Ewert, A. Gutzmer, Walter Voss, Emil Gloor, and George Weber.
