Mrs. Chris Petersen funeral Tuesday
Funeral rites for Mrs. Chris (Tetta) Petersen, 73, of 3912 19th Street, will be held Tuesday at Peace Lutheran Church with Rev. Otto Schlegelmlich in charge. Prayer service Is 1:45 p.m. and regular service at 2 p.m.
Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery. Now lying in state at Gass-Haney Funeral Chapel, her body will be taken to church Tuesday to lie in state from 1 to 2 p.m.
Mrs. Petersen died Friday in Behlen Hospital where she was a patient for one week.
Born it Platte County Oct. 2, 1898, she was the daughter of Henry and Alma Brakenhoff Johannes.
She married Chris Petersen Feb. 26, 1913 at Zion Lutheran Church, Platte Center, and they farmed in that community until moving to Columbus 18 years ago. They observed their golden anniversary in 1968.
She was a charter member of Peace Lutheran Church and Women’s Guild.
Surviving are her husband; two daughters, Mrs. Eugene (Maxine) Grotelueschen of Leigh, Mrs. Marvin (Norma) Wilke of Columbus; six grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs . Louise Sluts of Humphrey, Mrs. Fred Griepentrog of Columbus; one brother, Herman Johannes of Chapman.
She was preceded in death by a son, Verner; two grandchildren; brothers, William, Henry and Otto of Columbus; sister, Mrs. Clara Rippen of San Antonio.
Melvin Groteluschen will be in charge of memorials at the church.
