Most Perry Countians who migrated to Alva, Oklahoma moved directly to the Alva area. This book describes the migration of the Kirmse and Lohman families who first homesteaded on the western edge of the Cherokee Strip among a colony of Volga German Russians near Goodwin, Oklahoma Territory. Their homes, family, and harvesting of crops as well as descriptive stories of their Volga German Russian neighbors are included.  And, a photo tour shows how the Goodwin area looks a century after they moved to Alva, Oklahoma
