Audience
This curriculum is appropriate for non-native speakers of English in an academic setting. Students may be identified as “beginning” or “low-intermediate” and have a TOEFL score of 40 or a Duolingo score of 35-40. This course is designed to enhance existing reading skills by examining and explaining major phonetic rules and how those rules help students improve spelling and reading fluency. Students should have existing knowledge of English, albeit they will not be completely proficient.
