15 Field Trip (1 day)

Bring students to a college that teaches Powerline Technicians as a field trip. Give them opportunities to do some or all of the following:

  • Climb poles
  • Try hand and power tools
  • Try on harnesses
  • Consider possible hazards
  • Identify different poles and their characteristics
  • Identify different kinds of insulators
  • Identify different kinds of conductors
  • Identify different kinds of transformers
