ADDIE is a widely used instructional design model introduced during the OISE Adult Learning and Development program. It describes the overall process of designing effective learning experiences:

  • Analyze: identify learner needs, goals, and context

  • Design: plan learning outcomes, assessments, and activities

  • Develop: create materials, content, and course structure

  • Implement: deliver and facilitate the course

  • Evaluate: review, assess, and improve the course

ADDIE is mentioned in this book because it supports planning and continuous improvement, which also aligns with the QM approach to intentional design.
