Unit 2: What is disability?

In this unit, you will examine and critique dominant ideas about disability and normalcy and learn how disabled people think about disability. You will likely learn about inequities and injustices of which you were previously unaware. As you explore this new information, you may experience discomfort. We encourage you to notice any feelings of discomfort and pause to reflect on them. You may also feel compelled to act to “fix” the injustices about which you are learning. We invite you to pause and reflect on those feelings as well. The most important action you can take at this time is to keep learning.
