1. Navigation. Every chapter in this guide is on a single web page. You’ll find a thick, red border at the bottom of the screen. Click on the border to move to adjacent chapters—left to go backwards, right to go forward. Or you can open up the contents menu on the upper-left side of each page and navigate that way.
2. Footnote navigation. You can navigate to footnotes and return to where you were. It’s like footnote navigation in Wikipedia. Try it now.[1] ← Just click the red footnote reference number here.
You don’t actually need to go to the footnote to read it. Simply hover the cursor over the footnote reference number and the entire text of the footnote will appear. But some footnotes have links in them. You’ll have to go down to the actual footnotes to access those.
3. In-line links. If you see a word or phrase in red with a red solid line below it, like Appendix A, it’s a link that will take you elsewhere.
4. Glossary terms. If you see a word or phrase in red with a lighter-looking red dotted line below it, like THECB, it’s a glossary term. Click it and a short definition will pop up on the current page.
5. QC. If you see something that’s wrong or have a suggestion on wording things better or including something I omitted, send me an email at stauffer_j@utpb.edu. Who knows? I might just reciprocate with a suggestion of my own.
