Providing pet pigs with ways to stimulate their bodies and their minds is a very important part of caring for a pig. They are very intelligent creatures and thus can easily become bored. Allowing them time outdoors to exhibit normal rooting behavior is the ideal way. Rooting also has nutritional benefits, as explained in Chapter 3. If rooting time outdoors is not possible, taking them for walks on a harness is another good form of stimulation and exercise. Other good forms of enrichment are very similar to dogs. Toys and puzzles are good, food puzzles/balls can be very good as well. Chapter 3 goes into detail about healthy snacks that double as forms of enrichment.
