Part 3: Peer Review and Collaboration

pie charts of horrible group work possibilitiesMany writing classes require sessions of peer review (also known as peer workshops or writer workshops). Classes in other divisions will also often require group work that ends with a paper or report. Learning to work with other writers is an important skill in college, but it can be challenging, frustrating, and annoying, particularly if you’ve ever had a negative experience with other writers.

We’ll work on ways to draw benefits from peer editing however it happens. First, we’ll talk about why peer review is so often used; next, we’ll talk about the expectations from writers and readers in a peer review session; and finally, we’ll look at strategies for getting the best results from peer review.
