16 Lo + adjective
It expresses the English: ‘the thing’.
- Lo + adjective + es + noun/infinitive:
Lo difícil del español es aprender los verbos. The difficult thing about Spanish is learning the verbs.
Lo malo es la contaminación. The bad thing is the pollution.
- Lo + adjective + es + que + sentence:
Lo bueno de Howick es que es tranquilo. The good thing about Howick is that it is quiet.
Lo malo es que no hay nada que hacer. The bad thing is that there is nothing to do.
