Focus On Self: Physical Well Being

When sitting in the classroom all day, the muscles can get tight (especially if you have mental stress.)  Stretching your muscles can release endorphins which are chemicals in the brain that make you feel good and can improve your mood.  Stretching doesn’t need to be a big production; in fact, it is possible to stretch without leaving your desk.  Watch this video, practice desk stretches, and notice how you feel afterwards.

Stretching releases endorphins in your brain.  Endorphins are the “feel good” neurotransmitter.  They can improve mood, alleviate pain, and fight depression.
