Chapter B5 – Performs Quantity Takeoff

The NOA for Carpenter (2013) identifies the required competencies (skills) for the task of performing a quantity take off. These are:

Perform calculations to determine required quantities of materials taking into account application of material, waste and reuse of available material

Use project drawings and/or on-site measurements to determine required quantities of materials (NOA, p. 26).
