This scholarly article explores, in more depth, Plato’s argument in favor of “philosopher kings” as leaders. The author critically analyzes the idea of “philosopher kings” as Plato describes them, and problematizes this approach to develop his own model for contemporary ethical leadership. The author argues “that ethical leaders will tend to emerge in conjunction with, or within, ethical organizations.” (Zyglidopoulos)
