Author Biography:
Dr. Sarah Fisher is an Assistant Professional Professor of Digital Journalism and the Faculty Advisor of the Island Waves student news publication at Texas A&M University – Corpus Christi.
Dr. Fisher’s background in journalism, public relations and humanitarian work has contributed to the perspective shared in this textbook. She has a Ph.D. in Mass Communication with a specialization in International Business, a Master of International Business (MIB), a Master of Arts in Latin American Studies (MALAS), and a Bachelor of Science in Journalism, all from the University of Florida.
This book was largely written using materials she developed for teaching the Media & Society and the Media Industries courses at TAMUCC.
Dr. Fisher received a grant to produce this book as part of the Zero Textbook Cost (ZTC) program at TAMUCC, to provide relevant course materials under an open-access Creative Commons license (CC BY-NC) for use at this university and beyond. Anyone can use (remix, adapt, or build upon) the material in this textbook as long as they give appropriate credit to the author (Dr. Sarah Fisher) and use only for non-commercial purposes.
