Many students are new to scholarly reading.  You may find that reading scholarly sources takes more time than you’d expected.  As you engage with a variety of sources, you’re bound to come across some that are written for experts or specialists in a particular field.  Give yourself time to approach your reading, look up unfamiliar terms, and consult with your professor if you need help.
