The Ellen Clark Bertrand Library has a rich history of providing resources, services, and information literacy/library instruction.  Excellent resources are enhanced by librarians and library staff dedicated to student learning.

Thanks to the generous donations of Ellen Clark Bertrand, ground was broken for the library in June, 1950, and the library opened formally in September, 1951.

Over the years, the library has evolved to meet the University’s changing needs.  Ellen Clark Bertrand Library is part of Bucknell’s Library & Information Technology (L&IT), whose mission is to “provide leadership, resources, and expertise that empower Bucknell students, faculty, and staff to engage in intellectual exploration, to create and share knowledge, and to implement solutions that further the University’s mission.”
