Part 3: Review the Humor Argument Essay Instructions
Do you find humor motivating and encouraging, or do you find it distracting? Is it better to work in a setting where humor is used, or does humor interfere in workplace relationships? How can humor impact one’s health? This assignment will explore these questions.
For your writing assignment, you will be asked to develop an argument essay on humor.
With your argument essay, please write about one of the following choices:
- How might humor be beneficial (helpful) in the workplace? How might humor conflict with the need to be professional?
- Is humor better than medicine for the treatment of health problems?
Please note: Do not try to answer both questions in your argument essay. Use your essay to describe your perspective on one of the choices above. You should attempt to convince college-level students that your perspective on humor is valid (reasonable and meaningful). Include at least one quote, paraphrase, or summary from the humor articles we have read in this course.
Use MLA format with your name, instructor’s name, class title, and date in the upper left corner of the page. Create an interesting title and place this title in the center of the page above your paragraphs. Please use double-spaced, Times New Roman, 12-point font. Your essay should be 600 to 1,000 words in length.
