Welcome to the Plural: Português pluricêntrico – Workbook, a dynamic extension of our previous work, “Plural: Português pluriêntrico 2nd ed,” published by Boavista Press in 2023. Made possible through the generous grant from the Less Commonly Taught and Indigenous Languages Partnership at Michigan State University, this project is the result of collaborative efforts by Dr. Leonardo Silva of California State University San Marcos and Dr. Eugênia Fernandes of Florida International University (formerly University of California, Davis). Our workbook is designed to support Portuguese instructors across the nation who have embraced the Plural series in their classrooms. Staying true to the principles of social justice pedagogy, authentic genre affordance, and community engagement, this resource aims to enhance educational experiences while promoting representation, inclusion, and cultural awareness. We firmly believe that education is a powerful agent of transformation, and through this workbook, we strive to offer not just a pedagogical tool but a means to foster a more inclusive and culturally responsive learning environment.
