Welcome, everyone, to this discussion of perspectives in technology-enhanced learning (TEL) in higher education.

You may be using this guide in your study on evaluating technology for learning tasks, an elective in the Graduate Certificate in Higher Education. This guide will assist you in considering where and how you can best integrate technology into your teaching.

This learning guide provides an outline of recommended reading and activities which, when shaped and supplemented by your personal learning goals, will help you identify the characteristics and functions of learning, teaching, or unit design technologies in higher education and evaluate technology-enhanced learning from multiple perspectives. We’ll also outline one way to plan educational tasks, using a scholarly approach, that use technologies effectively to develop students’ learning, and prototype learning sequences or environments that incorporate digital or other technologies.
