This chapter covered information disorder, information cynicism, information hygiene, info-environmentalism, and the broad psychological, physiological, and sociological effects of disinformation. A common thread runs through all of these concepts in that they focus on the behaviors and actions that we should take not only when consuming but also when sharing information.
In other words, our goal should be to:
- Minimize our own exposure to information disorders like misinformation and disinformation, and
- Avoid spreading those information disorders to others.
