Norma (Kirmse) Rauh extensively researched our family history for which I am very grateful. And, materials from Norma’s research results were the starting basis for this research project.
Posts of family research progress were made on the Dale’s Family Research blog as the research was made. These blog posts have served as the basis of chapters of this book.
As might be expected, various difficulties occurred during the search for ancestors. Initial confusion was caused by Peter Meÿer and his family changing the spelling of their last name to Meier after they arrived in Missouri. Most problems were discussed and resolved and are noted as they arose in the respective chapters.
Two problems and their resolution required extended research and are discussed in the following chapters:
- Broken Ancestor Link
- Which Hans Meÿer?
Chapter Ancestry Report of Martha Margaretha Cordes in the book My Scheeßel Relatives – Vol 1 summarizes the results to date for developing the ancestry family tree of Martha Margaretha Cordes.
