Teaching Math

Math is a class that students often enter feeling uninspired, unmotivated, and frustrated. In math, answers are either right or wrong, and students can usually tell when they are doing well or poorly. Students often have been labeled into learning styles, stereotyped, and have fixed mindsets, thus making their motivation and self-efficacy levels low. We can help solve this by adjusting our classes to meet the needs of all learners and focus on incorporating all parts of the brain into the learning process. We can then help students attribute their successes or failures to their behaviors through productive feedback. Then encourage students to reflect on their behaviors, and plan accordingly. The following pieces give us a more detailed idea of how to implement these interventions and help students grow.
